T.G.I. Friday’s Newport News Holds BBQ for Local Military Unit
July 13, 2012
T.G.I. Friday's Newport News hosted a BBQ for a military unit and their families that were deploying to Afghanistan. Everyone had a great time and it was a wonderful experience to give back to the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way protecting our freedom.
We don't have the words to describe how proud we are of General Manager Luke Melia and the rest of the Newport News team! Sometimes we forget how lucky we are on a daily basis and how these brave men and their families make life better for us.
Below, you can read an email from one of women that attended the barbecue:
Hey Luke,
Hope all is going well with the restaurant. Just wanted to send a email and let you know that all the families are still talking about the amazing BBQ. The soldiers made it to Afghanistan alright and are started on there year long mission. What you did for our unit will never be forgotten and you and your staff will always hold a special place in my heart and the rest of the unit. Thank you again for everything you did. Big Long Hugs for YOU!!!!!
Thanks so much,
Jennifer Hellard
P.S. If you are ever hiring let me know I had a couple wives say they would love to work for you and your restaurant.
